Astrologers would need to overcome their disdain for engaging others who are not familiar with the science of the stars in an intelligent conversation. In the Philippines, Astrology is more popularly perceived in the form of “horoscopes”, that is why many are skeptical when astrologers talk about history, philosophy, psychology or finance.
Miguel Cuneta of Satoshi Citadel
Meeting Miguel Cuneta, co-founder of Satoshi Citadel Industries, was different from the norm. A graduate of De La Salle University, he doesn’t speak the language of astrology but what surprised me was that he seems to be cool about it. When I met him at the Blockchain Applications and Economics Forum 2018 on May 29 at SMX SM Aura, I mentioned to him that Uranus is now in Taurus that talks about bitcoin and the revolution in finance and technology that is blockchain. It turns out that he has learned about this forecast from the internet. He agrees that the revolution brought about by blockchain is happening already, as described by astrologers.
I approached him because I was intrigued at how his chart would look like. The aura is familiar. After small talk about Rebit.ph, a remittance company that uses blockchain, I decided to ask him a weird question — his birth data. He was kind enough to oblige but he doesn’t know that time of his birth, a crucial information because it is the personalizing factor in the astrological chart. He asked me not to hex him, but I promised I won’t (I can’t). Astrology has nothing to do with witchcraft.
If there was more time, I could have explained to him that technological advances may have been made because of astrology. Such as the Antikythera mechanism, dubbed as the world’s first computer. Studies revealed that this ancient oddity can perform astrological computations. Johannes Kepler’s discovery of the laws of planetary motion came about because of his desire to provide astrologers like him, with more accurate astrological data. Now, as blockchain rises from obscurity, astrologers were in the background, as they have been predicting years ago that the foundations of the new world order will be laid in this decade and the next.
Uranus Signature
As soon as I opened my laptop I can’t wait to click on my astrology software and voila! I knew it: Miguel has a Uranian signature. The Sun was conjunct Uranus at the time of his birth. Miguel embodies the Uranian spirit that is also the signature of bitcoin and probably that of the real Nakamoto Satoshi, too. It was a eureka moment for me. Meeting Miguel was like meeting an incarnation of a “Satoshi,” the modern-day counterpart of Prometheus, the Greek mythical figure who stole fire from the gods and gave it to mankind.
Pioneers in other fields who have the same planetary configuration are Werner Heisenberg and Sigmund Freud. Both men changed the world because of the ideas that they propagated. I don’t know the training of Miguel but being one of the leading figures in the adoption of blockchain in the Philippines surely fits the bill.
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the name of the inventor of bitcoin and blockchain. The identity of Satoshi has remained a mystery. Satoshi may not even be an individual but a group of people. But one thing is certain when Satoshi released the white paper, it comes with a timestamp – giving astrologer the opportunity to create the astrological chart of bitcoin. This is also one reason why astrologers (with a background on IT) are among the first supporters of blockchain and investors in bitcoin.
It is understandable why Satoshi wanted to remain anonymous. What he unleashed to the world, just like what Prometheus did, was disruptive technology meant to challenge the existing world order. Bitcoin was meant to do away with banks and financial institutions. It is interesting to note that bitcoin was developed right after the monetary crisis of 2007. He launched bitcoin on a day that the second bailout for the banks was being discussed. He immortalized the event by including this note: “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of the second bailout for banks” on the white paper.
Fast forward into 2018, as Uranus enters Taurus , despite threats of government regulation at different corners of the world, the price of bitcoin is still higher than the previous year’s low. Forums and exhibitions about bitcoin and blockchain abound. Countries like the Philippines are opening its door to the future, thanks to the Satoshis who are leading the way.
