Filipino Astrologer’s annual ebook Astro-Year presents forecasts on different aspects of our national life as well as analyses on the charts of our leaders.
It also has practical guides for business people, especially those who invest in the local stock market. There are also projections on the movement of the Philippine peso, US dollar, gold, and even bitcoin.
Astrology is about cycles and the movement of the sky. The Sun being the source of light, ancient astrologers placed emphasis on the Aries Ingress or when the Sun enters the Zodiac sign of Aries.
With Aries as the first sign of the Zodiac, a new cycle of growth begins after Aries Ingress, which occurs around March 21. This date is considered as the beginning of the astrological year.
This date is also known as the Vernal or Spring Equinox. Aries Ingress is associated with the season of spring. Right after this ingress, the length of day increases. During this time of the year, the earth receives more light from the sun.
Astrological new year
It is but correct for serious astrologers to emphasize this date to their readers even if this practice is not popular to most of us except the people of Iran, who inherited much of the Persian culture.
To the ancient Persians, the year begins around March 20. They celebrate this as Nowruz, which literally means a “new day.”
This practice has been going on for more than 3,000 years and may have its beginning with the teachings of the Zoroastrians, who were well versed in astrology. The term “magi” and the so-called Three Kings were astrologer-priests of the Zoroastrian religion. Nowruz is still being celebrated in Iran.
At present, the astrology community celebrates International Astrology Day on this same date, perhaps following the same astro-logic of the ancient magi.
The Aries Ingress is the reason why Astro-Year is released in March or April and not January.
