Testimonial of a love-struck lawyer Part 2
By Judy Repol
Arnaud eventually proposed to me on my birthday in November In 2015, I once again consulted Resti on life crossroads. Each reading with him clarified my path for me.
In the midst of my wedding planning, it turned out that all will be better for Arnaud and myself to do a civil wedding ceremony first in France. This was because our wedding will be recognized faster by the French government, as opposed to having a wedding in the Philippines, first then having it recognized by the French government, which will take longer. So, I consulted Resti on the best date to do our civil wedding in France.
For me, it was the best decision for us because our church wedding in the Philippines was already set and the chosen date was not the most auspicious for us. It was quite close to a Mercury retrograde period in January 2016. But we chose our date in January not just because of astrology but due to a number of factors—the availability of the church, the reception venue, the holidays, etc. Since the basis for our personal astrology as a couple will be the first union (in our case, our civil wedding rather than our church wedding), we now have a new opportunity to find the perfect date for us, with Resti even considering our birth times and of course, our birth dates.
And that best wedding date for us was November 17, 2015, between 2:30 PM and 3:20 PM because Venus, the planet of love, was strong in Libra. It was also a day with an open star* and a plus. Fortunately, in France, we can set an appointment for when we wanted our civil wedding, right down to the minute. Arnaud arranged our appointment at 2:20 PM. We had a lovely, intimate civil wedding. And our union through marriage was pronounced lawful by the officiant exactly at 2:30 PM, French time.
On a practical level, I thought to myself, if I get married on a particular date and at a particular time, would I lose something? I didn’t, and so, there was no harm done. I don’t think my then-fiance really cared much for these things, but he knew it was important for me and respected this aspect of my beliefs. I thought to myself, if I have access to a tool that will tell me the perfect timing for me to get married—then why not use it? In planning my wedding, I was so specific about details such as colors, kind of fabric, flowers, font for calligraphy and all those little nitty gritty things that have no real significance aside from aesthetics. And when it came to choosing the perfect, best timing for my wedding ceremony—one that has meaning and significance that is written in the stars and in an age-old technique and methodology—should I compromise on something as significant as that? I didn’t compromise on my shoes and my flowers for my wedding, and I was not about to compromise on the perfect timing for my wedding date.
Before, every time I do a reading with Resti, I never stop questioning him about the interplay of free will and astrology and destiny. And always, I ask him whether doing a reading with him will “narrow down” my future because his readings tend to steer one onto a certain path, and not the other. But after all my readings and discussions with him, I have made peace with astrology. I don’t see it anymore as narrowing down my future, but simply guiding and lighting the way to make my path clearer for me. I did not break up with the wrong guy for me just because my astrologer said so. I did not say yes when Mr. Right proposed to me just because my astrologer said he is The One. In my heart of hearts, I already knew they were the right course of action for me.
Astrology and my readings with Resti only affirmed my decisions—those only confirmed, concretized and gave voice to what I already know, and what my Higher Self is telling me. It compliments my spirituality because I believe it is a tool for accessing the Divine. It is one of the forms by which my prayers are answered, and by which the Universe speaks to me in the midst of the noise of daily life.
